I had the opportunity to capture a few brief moments of new Mummy joy for a friend a few days ago.
When I looked at this adorable duo through my lens, I heard in my mind Emily Dickinson’s poem:
“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.”
Oh how much we hope for the little ones we hold in our arms and how we hope that they are always happy even when we know such is not the nature of things in this world. After all, hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all.
